The Cardinals come back in the third with hits from Pappas, Lankford and Jefferies along with 2 errors from Cincinnati for the Birds to tie the game. The in the 4th, Gilkey singles, Alicea walks and a big double from Tewksbury propels the Cardinals into a 5-3 lead. In the 5th the Cardinals get three singles off of Rijo and another run for a 6-3 lead in the opener.
The bottom of the 6th will see the last run of the game as Reggie Sanders hit s big home run off Tewksbury to make it 6-4. The Cardinals will bring in Vincente Palacios in the 7th and 8th. He allows one hit, walks two and fans four to notch a “hold” for the game and Mike Perez finishes it in the 9th with one inning of work as he fans tow of three batters he faces.
